In regards to financially sponsoring local church leadership in restricted nations, The Voice of the Martyrs in Canada has chosen to take another route that we feel is more appropriate to the needs of the persecuted church. We are encouraging Christians in Canada to sponsor a persecuted Christian in a restricted nation for one year in receiving job training and starting up a small business. In this way, we assist our brothers and sisters to become self-sufficient instead of becoming dependent on outside aid (1 Thess.4:11-12).
